About
Hōhua is a Matakite, Mirimiri & Romiromi Practitioner based in Naarm/Melbourne. Born in Aotearoa and of Ngāti Wairere, English and Filipino heritage, his life has been immersed in culture, movement, community and a deep curiosity about what it means to be human.
With a grandmother who was also deeply connected to her intuitive abilities, Hōhua’s relationship with wairua unfolded through whakapapa, lived experience and many years of training and development.
Dance became an outlet where Hōhua found a real sense of belonging in the world. Beyond performing and teaching, it introduced him to lifelong friendships, a strong sense of community and a way of cultivating a deeper connection with the body.
Hōhua brings together Māori philosophies, holistic wellbeing and intuitive practice. He creates spaces that invite people to reconnect with the wisdom of the body, the guidance of wairua and our innate capacity for relationship, belonging and wholeness.
